Fort Lauderdale Garden Club, Inc. (FLGC) is a working group of active individuals
with a passion for plants, gardens, gardening, flowers, floral design, ecology and many
other environmental topics.
Stimulating the love of gardening in our members and
in our community;
Encouraging the study of plant life and the cultivation
and growing of flowers, trees and shrubs;
Providing a forum for our members to exhibit and share
their horticulture knowledge and skill;
Mentoring young gardeners and instilling in them the love of gardening
and appreciation for the natural world;
Studying and teaching the art of floral design;
Promoting the beautification of Florida highways and other public areas;
Fostering good stewardship and the conservation of natural resources;
Supporting the aims and objectives of National Garden Clubs, Inc.
& Florida Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc.;
Cooperating with other organizations, institutions and governmental
agencies in furthering our mutual aims.
FLGC encompassesactive members who may also be
members of one of our dynamic Garden Circles.
Please join us at one of our monthly meetings and Programs offered on the second
Friday of every month except the April meeting. Our monthly meetings are held at
the Glenn F. Bates Garden Center on the grounds of Hugh Taylor Birch State Park.

In addition to our monthly General Meetings
each of our Garden Circles offers monthly
programs, field trips, and activities, to see what
the circles are up to and to find out how to
contact any of our circles please click here.
Garden Circle meetings may be held at the
Glenn F. Bates Garden Center,
a Circle Members home, or at the location
of a field trip or event.
REQUIREMENT FOR BECOMING A CIRCLE MEMBER:
Applicant for active membership
shall have attended at least two (2) meetings:
(1) of the Circle in which membership is desired and
(1) of the Fort Lauderdale Garden Club, Inc.
or two (2) Circle meetings
prior becoming a member of FLGC.
Our accredited flower show judges participate in the Florida Judges Council,
Flower Show Schools, and Symposiums and judge numerous shows each year.
The Reading Room Library is located in the Glenn F. Bates Garden Center,
includes books pertaining to horticulture, landscaping,
flower design, and the environment.
The Library Reading Room is open to Members and Guests.
The Fort Lauderdale Garden Club, Inc. conducts a Secret Garden Tour of outstanding homes and gardens in the Fort Lauderdale area in February of each year. Each home on tour offers a unique garden concept.
This is the major fundraising project with proceeds being used to fund camperships for our youth gardeners to Camp Wekiva, civic beautification and improvement.
The FLGC Standard Flower Showis a joint venture between the Fort Lauderdale Garden Club, Inc. and our Garden Circles each year.
We maintain the garden at the Glenn
F. Bates Garden Center within
Hugh Taylor Birch State Park.
This garden is a showcase of creative gardening ideas for Florida gardeners and is sponsored and cared for by our Garden Circles.
